It’s one thing to make someone’s day. It’s another thing to make someone’s week, month, or even year. And on rare occasions, you get the opportunity to make someone’s life. When Scottie received a phone call that he could bring a Living The Dream child to a private Friends & Family Only Blink 182 Show at the Forum in Los Angeles, he knew this was an opportunity to make someone’s life. The first person who came to his mind was Liz. She’s 20 years old and has Cystic Fibrosis. Liz prides herself on being Blink 182’s biggest fan. She has an entire wall covered in her room from top to bottom with dozens of pictures and magazine articles about the band. She owns every CD and knows every song. He called her to share the good news and she could hardly believe what he was saying. That same night she booked a plane ticket to come out to California for the concert. She said that flying from her home state Pennsylvania to California was the longest plane ride of her life; she knew she was about to have her dream come true. I attended the concert with Scottie and Liz and I had never seen anyone’s face glow like hers. Our hearts smiled when she looked at us and said, “This was the best night of my life.” That evening, Living The Dream was able to make someone’s life. To be able to experience that special moment with her made my life too. It was a night we will both remember for the rest of our lives… That night we were Living The Dream!

“We make dreams come true for children with life-threatening afflictions while instilling a positive message of truly Living The Dream everyday to enrich their lives.”
